An Entertainment Given by the Orpheus Club of Ocean in the Midland M. E. Church
The Orpheus Club gave a splendid entertainment in the M. E. church at Midland, Tuesday last, which was largely attended and greatly appreciated. the following Program was successfully carried out.
Glee, "We're Sailing", Orpheus Club; song, a chorus, "Old Aunt Dinah", W. S. BURTON and party; song, "the Old Oak Tree", W. COOK; SONG, "The Old Turnkey", R. HARRIS; glee, "Merrily, Oh," George WALTERS, JR.; song a chorus, "We're Bound for Old Caanan Land," W. S. BURTON and party; glee, "On The Silvery Sea, by the club. Organist, Miss Jennie PHILLIPS; Director, Richard HARRIS.

At the fourth quarterly conference of Grace Methodist Episcopal Church held at the parsonage on the 13th, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Trustees, J. H. MARSHALL, James CLOSE, Wm. MCFARLANE, J. E. MILLER, J. H. GROVE, Matthew MARTIN, and Calvin LEMASTER; Stewards: James CLOSE, J.E. MARSHALL, Mrs. Ella ALLBRIGHT, Mrs. Catherine Henry KAEFER, John BOND, J. ???WALTERS, Mrs. Robert MCFARLANE, Mr. Henry KAEFER, Messrs. John BOND, J.H. COAZ, J.H. MARSHALL.
A unanimous vote was passed asking for the return of the pastor, Rev. U.S.A. HEAVENER, for the fifth year, and the return of Dr. MCDOWELL to the district.
There was a large turnout of the officials. Dr. MCDOWELL presided.
