MIDLAND - Timothy G. Cullen, 77, of Back Street, Midland, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.

Born Dec. 17, 192,7 in Midland, he was the son of the late John J. Cullen and Mary M. (Bryson) Cullen.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and John; four sisters, Anna, Mary, Veronica, and Dolores; and his wife Lorraine A. (Pratt) Cullen; and his special friend, Phyllis V. Blair.

Tim attended St. Joseph's School in Midland and LaSalle High School before entering the Navy in 1945 and serving on Okinawa. He was employed by the State of Maryland for over 40 years. He held various inspection positions in the following departments, State Highway Administration, Occupational Safety and Health, and General Services. He was a past commander of the John J. Devlin Post 169 American Legion in Midland, and reached the 59 year member milestone while a member of Farrady Post 24 in Frostburg. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Holy Name Society, and the Alvin C. Neat Post 5280 VFW in Lonaconing, a lifetime member of the Midland Volunteer Fire Department, Midland Sportsman's Club, and the Moose Lodge 348 in Frostburg.

He is survived by two sons, Mike and wife Barbara of Fallston and John and wife Sandy, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Amy, Patrick, and Jonathan; one step-grandchild, Julie; one niece; and six nephews; and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( http://www.eichhorn-mckenziefh.com ), Midland, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The Midland Vol. Fire Department will hold a memorial service Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

A Christian Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, at 10 a.m. with the Father Paul Brecinski, as celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Frostburg.

Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by Farrady Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Cullen, Jamie Cullen, John Roland, Pat Cunningham, Craig Alexander, and Ed Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lionel Baker, Jim Ricker, Don Eagan, and Don Parker.
