Born 2/16/1929 in Midland, Maryland, he was the son of the late David andMary (Johnson) Shearer, He also was preceded in death by two sisters,Isabel McCormick and Bertha Green, two grandson's and two granddaughter's.
Mr. Shearer was owner and operator of Dick & Clara's restaurant andtavern on Virginia Avenue for 34 years. He was a graduate of Beall HighSchool Class of 1947, attended college in Washington, D.C. and was formerComptroller for the Washington Post, Inc. He was a member of theCumberland Eagles, Aerie #245, Cumberland Moose Lodge #171, B.P.O. Elks#63 and former member of the Allegany City Republican Central Committee.
Surviving are his wife Clara Z (Karns) Shearer, one son Richard W.Shearer Jr. Cumberland, six daughters, Deborah Bucia and husband Robert,Fleetwood, C.
Lori Dixon and Husband Larry, Ijamesville, Maryland, Pamela Adhern,Douglasville, Debra Ray, Laurie Vanetla and Cathy Moore and Husband Garyall of Cumberland, one brother William Shearer and wife Betty, RiversideCalifornia, one sister Norma Alexander of Midland, Maryland, 18grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108,Virginia, Avenue on Thursday from 2 P.M. till 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. till 9P.M.
Funeral Services will be conducted there on Friday at 1 P.M. with theReverand Scott Shumaker Officiating.
Internment will be in the Providence Cemetery formerly Bortz Cemetery,Centerville, Pa. Military Honors will be accorded by the combinedVeterans Honor Guard.

Angela Weisenborne, 88, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, Sept.19, 2000 at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.Born on April 26, 1912, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the lateHugh and Geraldine (Hughes) Donahue. She was also preceded in death byher husband, Russell Weisenborne in 1965 and her son Lee Weisenborne in1992.
Mrs. Weisenborne was retired from the G.C Murphy Co., and was a member ofSt. Michael's Catholic Church.
Surviving are two grandsons, Stephen Weisenborne and wife Patti,Clarksville, and Jeffrey Wesienborne and wife Sherry, Rockville; twogreat- grandchildren, Jimmy and Jaimie Weisenborne; one brother JosephDonahue, Frostburg, and one sister, Ann Cascio, Olney; herdaughter-in-law, Millie Weisenborne, Grasonville; and two sisters-in-law,Isabelle Gunter, Frostburg, and Louisa Holsinger and husband Harold,Eckhart

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's CatholicChurch on Friday at 9:30 A.M. with the Rev. Father Douglas Kenney ascelebrant.
Interment will be St. Michael's Cemetery, where grave side services willbe private.
