WILLIAM R CUTTER
MIDLAND -- William Russell Cutter, 77, of Paradise Street, Midland, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where he had been a patient since June 23, 2000.
Born in Midland on May 7, 1923, he was a son of the late Russell Cutter and Helen (Stewart) Cutter. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Morton) Cutter; one stepson, Calvin Thrasher; two brothers, Payne Cutter and Robert Cutter; and one sister, Virginia Helmstetter.
Mr. Cutter was retired from General Motors as an inspector on the finish line, Pontiac, Mich., member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, where he was an usher, an Army veteran of World War II, and member of Alvin C. Neat Post #5280, VFW, Lonaconing.
Surviving are two sisters, Kathleen Mace and husband Carl, Petersburg, W.Va., and Maxine Phillips and husband Bob, Short Gap, W.Va.; one brother, Richard Cutter, Lonaconing; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Alvin C. Neat Post #5280, VFW, will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Neva Leatherwood officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
